Ian Westbrook

Ian studied Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University.

For the Lord Delfont Group he designed the Lenny Henry; The Nolan Sisters; Cannon & Ball and Dick Emery Shows. Seasons at Nottingham Playhouse, Leicester and Theatre Royal Plymouth, Ian became the set designer at Norwich Theatre Royal and since 1986, Cromer’s Seaside Special summer shows.

Ian has created over five hundred operas, musicals, plays and events including Sir Peter Hall’s Blithe Spirit- London’s Savoy Theatre; Michael Flatley’s Feet of Flames world tour; Evita & Chicago in Lebanon. Special fire effects for Chichester Festival and Birmingham Stage Company, English National Opera, London. The Broadway musical See Saw by Cy Colman, and designs for American illusionist David Blaine. 5 World arena tours for Iron Maiden. Robbie Williams; Pete Waterman; West Life; Blur; The Spice Girls; Peter Gabriel; and Thomas the Tank Engine. Disney. Sony Media and many Royal commissions for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at Sandringham. Designs for the UK tours and London’s West End productions of Proof; The Horrible Histories; Treasure Island for Birmingham Stage Co.  Pirate’s in the Caribbean. (St. Thomas Island). For Qdos Entertainments;  Peter Pan; CinderellaSleeping Beauty, Robinson Crusoe, at Birmingham Hippodrome along with new musicals by Jon Conway for the USA Celebrity Cruise lines “i-Hollywood The Land of Make Believe and Sirens. All the fun of the Fair, Garrick Theatre London & UK tours; Santa Clause and the Christmas Adventure, Ambassadors Theatre London, and special effects props for TVs Misfits series 3.  “Sangre” at The Riverside Studios, London.  Ian designed and created the Queens Crystal Diamond and Jubilee crown which was exhibited in the White Tower at the Tower of London along with the six meter high National Beacon that was lit outside Buckingham Palace for the Queens Diamond Jubilee concert in 2012.
