Last night the ceremony was a dramatic extravaganza of performance, illustrious names and theatrical royalty and lit ( for the second year ) by our very own BEN CRACKNELL.

With 5 Star reviews from The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail and whatsonstage.com Elaine C. Smith leads the cast in a affectionate, funny and inspiring night at the theatre with a sneaky appearance from SuBo herself causing an instant standing ovation.

Ben Crocker has directed over seventy professional productions.

He founded Magnificent Theatre Company and toured nationally for several years before commencing a ten year stint as Artistic Director of the Northcott Theatre, Exeter.

Since leaving the Northcott, he has continued directing with acclaimed productions of Richard III and Othello for Ludlow Festival – and on a lighter note, Legoland’s Pirates of Skeleton Bay, which will be seen by over one million people!

He has also made a particular speciality of pantomime writing – and this year his pantomimes will receive over fifty productions in five different countries.

We are especially pleased to welcome crime writer Maggie Wilson into the expanding Creative Department.

Maggie’s brilliant new work ‘Fallen Angel’ draws heavily on real life medical crime cases such as ‘Angel of Death’ nurse Beverley Allitt who killed four children in her care. It questions how outwardly caring people who train to look after the sick can in very rare cases turn into killers.

The story, the first in a series of medical crime thriller novels by Wilson and published by HandE, is set at Westwood General Hospital and is a DS Hammond investigation/
