Born under the sign ‘Keep Off The Grass’. Lloyd Hollett ‘The Comedy Wordsmith‘ was born in Margate, Kent and delivered at 3pm which came as a surprise to his mother as she was expecting a roll of carpet. 

Musical theatre has been a big part of his career, putting his versatility to the test having been cast in such diverse roles as The Voice of the Plant in Little Shop Of Horrors, will Mossop in Hobson’s Choice, Tony in West Side Story and The Scarecrow in the UK touring production of The Wizard Of Oz, starring alongside Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudesy. 

Lloyd has performed regularly for Warner Leisure Hotels across the UK for over ten years as well as being a regular face for Away Resorts UK. 

He has successfully managed entertain the masses on the Cruise Ship scene.. Having now sailed on and off for over seventeen years. Working for lines such as P & O, Marella Cruises, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Holland America, Princess and NCL.  Lloyd was recently asked to be the very first act to perform on the maiden voyage of Fred Olsen’s brand new ship The Borealis which launched in the summer of 2021. 

2022 will see Lloyd appear regularly for the brand new British cruise line Ambassador Cruises.  

As a writer Lloyd has written material for Stephen Mulhern for both TV and his Butlin’s show. Lloyd has also starred alongside Stephen in his ITV1 show Magic Numbers. 

Lloyd’s rather impressive memory bank leaves audiences baffled night after night. With people often asking themselves how on earth he remembers it all? Lloyd has been quoted as saying that he can remember things that happened before he was even born. “…Before I was born I can actually remember entering a hotel room with my father and leaving with my mother!”

Lloyd is no stranger to pantomime either, Having completed nineteen consecutive pantomimes. Ten of which have been at The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury for Evolution Pantomimes. Working in so many panto’s has enabled him to work with the likes of Nigel Havers, Stephen Mulhern, Shaun Williamson, Sheila Furgeson, Gareth Gates, Dr Ranj, Toyah Wilcox, Samantha Womack and Rita Simons.  Lloyd has just completed his first pantomime season for Crossroads Pantomimes where he played the role of Muddles in Sleeping Beauty at The Churchill Theatre Bromley starring alongside Bonnie Langford and Lee Mead. 

He has supported Jim Davidson on thirteen separate UK Tours, as well as supporting the late Paul Daniels and Sean Hughes.

Lloyd Hollett continues to establish himself as one of this country’s most unique and original comedy performers, who Gyles Brandreth has described as ‘a linguistic comedy genius’.
