Brad was born in Norfolk in 1975. His first memory of Pantomime was at the Theatre Royal Norwich watching Paul Henry in Cinderella, it was a moment that cemented his love of the genre and set him on the road to his current profession. Sixteen years later and Brad was the Assistant Stage Manager for the Theatre Royal Norwich production of Aladdin. It was a wonderful cast that included Grand Dame of Pantomimes Christopher Biggins and one of the finest ‘Baddies’ in the business, the late great Victor Spinetti.

After training in Stage Management at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School Brad toured the UK and abroad as a Company Stage Manager, once a year he would find himself as Company Manager for the Pantomime season for his friend ‘Biggins’.
Brads writing career started when he offered Biggins the occasional gag or ‘bit of business’. One day one of his jokes was used and after getting the biggest laugh of the evening was asked if he had anything else up his sleeve. He was soon approached by Cambridge Arts Theatre to pen their Pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk. Brad wrote and directed the Pantomimes for Cambridge for eight years and was resident Dame for four years. In his first year as Dame (and first ever foray onto the stage after a life in the wings) he was listed as one of the top UK Dames by The Sunday Telegraph. Whilst writing the annual scripts for Cambridge he was approached by Basildon Towngate Theatre who had seen the reviews for his writing style and asked him to be their resident Pantomime scribe. Brad penned fourteen original scripts for Basildon, several of which received five stars in The Stage.

Brad has directed and played Dame for Evolution Pantomimes at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn since 2008. He has performed the roles of Widow Twankey in Aladdin, Dame Trot in Jack and the Beanstalk, Nurse Nellie in Sleeping Beauty, Mrs Smee in Peter Pan, Dame Dolly in Dick Whittington, Buttons in Cinderella and Nurse Nellie (again!) in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Mother Goose in Mother Goose, Widow Twankey (again!!!) in Aladdin and Mrs Smee (…again) in The Panto Adventures of Peter Pan.

When all pantomimes were cancelled for the 2020 ‘lockdown’ season, Brad wrote and performed a socially distanced, one man show about the history of pantomime “We’ll Have To Do It Again Then, Won’t We!”

In 2022, Brad directed the world premiere of the stage adaption of Tales Of Acorn Wood by Julia Donaldson.
